Scott Timpany

Scott began his career with a degree in Geography at Coventry University. He followed this by a MSc by research on Palaeoecological changes during the Holocene on the Mizen Peninsula, southwest Ireland. He then moved to the University of Reading to complete a multiproxy PhD on the palaeoecology of submerged forests in the Severn Estuary and Bristol Channel.

 Scott has worked as an Archaeobotanist and Project Officer for Headland Archaeology since 2005. In 2008 he was promoted to Project Manager. Scott works on a range of material including pollen, wood and plant remains. He has recently published in the Journal of Vegetation History and Archaeobotany and in a volume edited by Martin Bell, Prehistoric Coastal Communities: the archaeology of Western Britain 6000-3000 Cal. BC. He frequently works on Irish palaeoecological material.
